The Revolution of Running: Web3 for Sports Data's Booster Project and Self-Sovereign Identity
ThinkSport is pleased to announce that our unique 'Web3 for Sports Data' Innovation Booster project, spearheaded by Martin Rumo and Thomas Wüthrich, has now entered its test phase.
The primary focus of this phase is exploring and validating the innovative concept of a Running ID using the paradigm of self-sovereign identity. This approach has the potential to revolutionise the running ecosystem and its stakeholders. As the team enters the test phase, they are committed to examining the new opportunities for business models and technological aspects to ensure a seamless user experience.
Given the Swiss government's recent initiative to allow citizens to use a government-issued e-ID on smartphones for electronic identification, their efforts in transforming the way sports data can be leveraged are both timely and highly relevant. This is particularly significant in the context of the increasing importance of digital IDs across a wide range of use cases.
A big thank you to Martin Rumo and Thomas Wüthrich for their commitment, and to Swiss Athletics, Swiss Runners, HSLU Blockchain Lab (Tim Weingärtner), and Vereign (Georg Greve) for their enthusiasm and expertise contributing to the success of this exciting project.
